We are one of Europe’s largest producers of electrical steel and one of only a few enterprises in the world which specialises in producing cold-rolled grain-oriented steel. Used in a wide range of transformer cores, it has a heat-resistant Carlite-type insulation coating ranging from 0.15mm to 0.80mm thick and is up to 960mm wide. We also produce commercial quality steel and steel with lower specific losses.
Approximately 60% of our grain-oriented steel is covered by highest-grade steel, including grades 3409 to 3408 under Russian industry standard GOST 21427.1, and is used in technologically-advanced twisted power and distribution transformer cores. We also produce steel grades with a higher permeability, conforming to Hi-B class.
Our cold-rolled non-grain-oriented steel is used in the stators and rotors of electric motors and generators of different capacity, and in ballast transformers and other electrical equipment. It is produced in different alloying groups. Our products range from non-alloyed silicon-free to high-alloyed non-grain oriented steel, to fully-processed or semi-processed standards. Up to 1,200mm wide, it ranges from 0.27mm to 1.00mm in thickness. We also produce semi-processed electrical steel, with and without guaranteed magnetic properties, for export only.
We produce steel grades of commercial quality and with lower specific losses and with mechanical properties regulated by Russian and international standards, along with steel with mechanical properties (hardness and yield strength to tensile strength) necessary for high-speed gapless dies production. We have begun trial manufacture of electrical non-grain oriented steel with high permeability for high efficiency cores.
