NLMK Is the Best Russian Enterprise of Year 2001
Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Corporation has won the All-Russia contest "The Best Russian Enterprises - 2001" in the sphere "The Highest Financial Efficiency". NLMK wins this prestigious contest for three years in row. NLMK was awarded for the high effectiveness of its economic activity. While receiving the award, Galina Aglyamova, NLMK's Director for Economy, said that "the only acceptable way for a modern enterprise today is to use the highest world standards in everyday work - in production, in management, in financing. We cooperate with a large number of enterprises both in Russia and abroad, and as far as financial accounting is concerned, we follow the strictest regulations in our work".
"The Best Russian Enterprises" contest was organized by the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Businessmen. The objective of the contest is to reveal the domestic enterprises with the best financial and economic characteristics. The jury included representatives of the Russian government, ministries and departments, public and research organizations.
